Texarkana Prepares for Medical Marijuana Businesses
TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) — A city in southwest Arkansas is creating a legal structure to accommodate medical marijuana entrepreneurs who are approved for state licenses.
A workshop held Tuesday in Texarkana by the Planning Commission focused on appropriate zones for the potential businesses.
City Manager Kenny Haskin tells the Texarkana Gazette that Texarkana has responded to about 70 to 80 inquiries about opening medical cannabis cultivation centers.
Haskin says some of those potential operators have come with “shovel ready” plans.
