At year’s end, time to ask: Why did the CDC ignore vaping evidence?

HIGHLIGHTS
- Evidence surfaced in August of 2019 with 192 cases of lung disease identified, and one death, linked to vaping.
- The cause seems to be the introduction of vitamin E oil specifically into illicit THC vape cartridges.
- Nearly all of the VAPI cases emerged from patients who vaped illicit THC cartridges.
